Holokai Zen

Holokai Zen is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Park City, Utah, dedicated to promoting Zen Buddhist philosophy, meditation practice, and mindful living. The name “Holokai” — derived from the Hawaiian word for “to navigate” or “to sail” — reflects the organization’s mission of guiding individuals through contemplative practice toward clarity, presence, and inner equilibrium.

Nestled in the Wasatch Mountains at roughly 7,000 feet elevation, Park City is renowned as a former silver mining town turned world-class destination. It is home to the Sundance Film Festival, premier ski resorts including Park City Mountain and Deer Valley, and served as a central venue for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. The town’s Historic Main Street — listed on the National Register of Historic Places — features over 200 local businesses, galleries, and restaurants within preserved 19th-century architecture.

The Park City wellness community includes organizations such as Mindful Summit County (outdoor meditation, yoga retreats), Haum Meditation (sound baths, workshops), and Park City Healers (holistic sound healing, Primordial Sound Meditation), creating a rich ecosystem for contemplative and wellness practices in the mountain region.
